Cagliari really heats up as July and August roll into town with balmy, hot weather, little chance of rain and an inviting sea temperature down by Poetto Beach. This is also when the majority of visitors choose to fly in so you may experience a little less elbow room than in other months at the city's most popular sites such as the Cathedral di Santa Maria.

Avoid the crowds

Fly to Cagliari in April, May, or June and you'll get to experience warm weather with an abundance of sun for a fraction of the price of the high summer season. You'll find Cagliari reawakening from the winter with hotels opening for the new season and the beach becoming busier - although the sea may be a little chilly to swim in before June.
