Sherry hails from one place in the world – you guessed it in the sherry triangle of towns Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlucar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa Maria in Andalusia. Best time to visit

June, July and August are the busiest months to visit Jerez de la Frontera, with holidaymakers flying in to enjoy the sultry summer weather. Jerez is usually hot, dry and sunny during these months and it's a popular time for visiting the city's sherry bodegas, seeing the horses dance at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and exploring the 18th-century Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral.

Avoid the crowds

If you want to find a great deal on flights and accommodation and have a lot more elbow room at the city's most popular attractions, consider flying to Jerez de la Frontera in May or September. You'll still have plenty of sun and get to enjoy generally dry conditions (rainstorms are most frequent between October and March), but the weather will be a touch milder and more comfortable for sightseeing.
