With pleasant year-round temperatures and very little rain, Alicante can be visited in any season. Those seeking days on the beach and a deep tan should come between May and September, though, when temperatures soar and the resorts are lively, full of people and atmosphere, and street performers and open-air markets are in full swing.

Avoid the crowds

May is a great time to visit Alicante, as the weather’s warming up and there’s lots of sunshine, plus the days are longer than in the summer months. It’s also a brilliant window for exploring all that Alicante has to offer minus the crowds – the old town’s cobbled streets are less trodden, and you’ll have your pick of al fresco tables at dinner.
