Best places for walking?

For a walk with a dramatic volcanic backdrop, El Cuervo Volcano, 20 minutes up the road in Tinajo, has signposted ‘low difficulty’ walking trails that take you around the volcano and inside the crater.

What is cheap to do?

Castillo San Gabriel in Arrecife only costs a few euros to enter. Enjoy the picturesque walk along the harbour wall to the ancient fortress with views out to sea.

Can I windsurf?

Many Lanzarote beaches offer surfing when the conditions are right, but the surfer beach at La Famara has lots of schools, shops and hire centres, just a half-hour’s drive from Matagorda.
