Iberostar Averroes

The Iberostar Averroes has lucked out on the location front. It’s a huge, sandy-coloured hotel right on the edge of a private beach. Follow the palm-fringed promenade along the seafront, and you’ll come to the centre of Yasmine Hammamet, where yachts bob in the marina, and restaurants and cafés line up along the waterside.

There’s a good round-up of facilities on offer here, including a huge lagoon-style swimming pool, a state-of-the-art spa, tennis courts, and a fitness centre for working up a sweat. The hotel entertainment team keep things lively throughout the day. You can get involved in water aerobics, games and quizzes, or opt out and head into the waves on a jet ski or catamaran. When the sun goes down, meanwhile, it’s all about shows, live music and Tunisian folklore performances.

When it comes to dining, choose from a buffet restaurant serving round-the-world dishes, and a romantic Italian à la carte specialising in pizza and pasta. There’s also a lovely outdoor terrace where regular barbecues are hosted in the summer months.
