What’s the beach like?

Theologos has an attractive beach, a mixture of shingle and sand, with turquoise waters. It can get windy, making it the perfect spot for windsurfing.

Is it lively at night?

The village has a small but lively choice of bars and restaurants, many of which host nights of traditional Greek dancing. The club scene of Rhodes Town is 30 minutes away by car.

What’s the weather like?

During July and August, temperatures sit at around 30°C. Visit in April or May if you prefer slightly cooler weather but with plenty of sunshine.

Best things to do

Go to church
Pay a visit to Agios Spiridonas, which stands proud in the old part of town. It’s a beautiful Greek Orthodox church with traditional whitewashed walls and a dramatic bell tower.
See the butterflies
Butterfly Valley is a nature reserve on the outskirts of Theologos. The magical forest is home to vast numbers of butterflies, which are most abundant in late May.
Go island hopping
Mandraki harbour on the north side of Rhodes provides easy access to the island of Symi, perhaps one of the last completely unspoilt spots in the Mediterranean.
