A low-key and tranquil village on the beach

Sandy Stegna Beach is just a couple of miles off the main road from the town of Archangelos. The golden beach stretches for around half a mile, and the calm, clear waters are ideal for swimming.

Stegna has a handful of restaurants, ice cream huts, and souvenir shops, and there’s a little supermarket if you fancy picking up supplies for a picnic. It’s an ideal beach for families, and there is a playground set a touch back from the sand, although the beach is perfect for sandcastle-building competitions, and the water is warm and inviting for gentle paddles.

If you find a day on Stegna Beach has disappeared in the blink of an eye, stay for an early supper at one of the seafront restaurants and you can order traditional Greek cuisine to enjoy with a sea view.

Your Stegna questions, answered

Families love Stegna. It’s quiet, but it still has good amenities, so you can spend a whole day at the beach if you want to.
Not really. If you want to party, try Faliraki, which is around 25 minutes north of Stegna.
Stegna is a quiet village, but you’re within easy distance of bigger towns and the ancient clifftop acropolis at Lindos.
