Is there a market?

On Friday mornings, a bustling, colourful street market springs up near the Old Town Harbour selling local food, crafts, souvenirs and fashion accessories. Feel free to haggle to your heart’s content.

Can I play golf?

Absolutely. Golfers of all levels can tee off at Puerto del Carmen’s superb 18-hole, par-72 golf course, which has a delightful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, palm trees and volcanoes.

Get lost in lava fields
In Lanzarote’s Timanfaya National Park, ancient lava eruptions have created a dramatic landscape. See geothermal demonstrations at the visitors’ centre and take a guided bus tour of the Montanas del Fuego.
Take a camel ride
At the edge of Timanfaya National Park, you’ll find rows of friendly camels waiting to take you on a lurching ride around the sand, surrounded by the volcanos and mountains rising in the distance.
Hike a volcano
Head north to the pretty town of Yaiza, then drive south to discover the craggy wilderness that is the Los Ajaches Natural Monument – an ancient volcanic massif with guided hikes, around which you’ll find cliffs, coves and beaches.
