    Things get wonderfully warm in the summer months (don’t worry, there are plenty of places to cool off), while springtime is slightly cooler, making it ideal for hikers and cyclists.
    From spring through to autumn, you’ll enjoy warm weather in Kefalonia. Temperatures tend to hit their peak during the summer months, drawing the beach lovers to the pretty coastline. Sightseers may prefer the spring and autumn temperatures for travelling about. If exploring the natural world is top of your list, you will enjoy the snow-capped mountains and flora of the wintertime.

However, an evening wining and dining on the excellent local drinks and expertly cooked cuisine is one of the island’s real assets. With sea views and plenty of outdoor seating, it’s hard not to take a table at one of the restaurants or tavernas.
    This picturesque Greek island is renowned the world over for its wealth of culture, traditional cuisine and pretty beaches. But perhaps Kefalonia is most famous for its sea turtles. These wonderful creatures come to the island for much the same reason as everyone else – the beaches. If you’re heading to the island, keep your eye out for these cheeky characters as they follow the local fishermen to shore.     With safe, clean beaches, as well as caves, castles and museums to explore, there’s much to fit in on a family holiday. You might choose to stay near the beach, playing on the sands or trying a spot of snorkelling. Or you might go exploring, discovering the archaeology that makes this island so special. Of course, you can do all of these activities whether you have little ones or not. And there’s plenty of places to take the weight off your feet and enjoy the Robola wine when you’re ready to relax.
    Sightseeing on this scenic Greek island is something that’s going to be high on your list. Thankfully, you don’t have to hire a car. Part of the beauty of Kefalonia is the ease with which you can hop on and off the local buses. Discovering the island by bus is great for leisurely journeys around the beaches and landmarks.
