How can I get around?

Public buses and dolmuş (public minibuses) pass though Hisaronu frequently in summer, heading to Olu Deniz (4 kilometres) or Fethiye (13 kilometres). Tickets are affordable, so both are popular modes of transport.

Are there any activities?

Yes, there’s lots to do for all ages, both in the water and on dry land. Local tour operators offer diving, snorkelling, kayaking, cruises, guided tours, Jeep safaris, horse riding, tandem paragliding and more.

Who were the Lycians?

They were an ancient people who inhabited what is now the area between Antalya and Fethiye. Today, you can see ruined Lycian cities and tombs dating from around 350 BC.

Wander through Kayakoy
Walk 4 kilometres downhill through the pine forest or catch a dolmuş to this ghost town, which is made up of 4,000 stone cottages that were abandoned by their Greek inhabitants in the 1920s.
Spend the day in Fethiye
Go shopping at Paspatur Market in Fethiye’s old town and eat local seafood at the fish market, then at sunset go to look at the Tomb of Amyntas, carved into the cliff in around 350 BC.
