There are plenty of activities and interesting day trips on the doorstep, but if all you want to do is chill on a sunlounger with a good book in one hand and a cocktail in the other, there’s zero pressure to do otherwise.

Very much so – in the resort’s commercial centre there's plenty for little ones to enjoy, including a bouncy castle, trampolines, climbing frames and mini-golf.
The commercial centre has several places where you can pick up the essentials or, for a more authentic experience, the nearby town of Felanitx hosts a Sunday market.
Since your holidays to Calas de Mallorca are likely to focus on the beaches, the best time to go is between June and September. You'll have some 11 hours of sunshine every day and the sea will be pleasantly warm. You'll also find the resort is bustling with activities and entertainments. In June and July, you can see local festivals like the Fiesta of Sant Joan Bautista, where you'll get sports, dancing and fireworks. If you prefer milder weather, you can still swim in October, and catch the Spanish national festival on the 12th.
Take your pick from a wide variety of bars, including some with a disco vibe and others that put on live music throughout the season.
Most people stick to the two beaches at Domingos Bay and Antena beach but there are similar small coves all along this coast. Bota beach is about seven minutes' drive north of Calas de Mallorca. You'll find a pebbly beach with clear water and a lovely view. It's a bit hard to get to and not developed, so something of a secret. About 20 minutes south, Cala sa Nau has a nice beach bar and a relaxed atmosphere. If you want a different style of beach, drive north for 40 minutes to the 300 metres of open sand and shallows at Mesquida.
You can drive it in a little over an hour, or take a taxi if you're going for a big night out. On public transport, you first have to get to Manacor, where you can then catch a train and a bus or two further buses. You can also take a taxi. Your shortest time for doing this is two hours 40 minutes and the longest nearly four hours. You may also find some hotels that run special trips.
You'll find Calas de Mallorca a lively place for family holidays. You'll have a choice of hotels with their own lobby and pool bars, buffet restaurants, pool tables, lounges and live entertainment. You can also take part in daytime activities and find supervised clubs for children of various ages. The resort is fairly low key, with a large choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants, including Indian and fast foods. You can stay late at a local disco, try karaoke or listen to live music, but this isn't the area for the mega-clubs.
If you just want to relax on the beach and have a chilled evening, then you won't need a car. You can explore around the area by bus, travelling to the traditional fishing town of Porto Cristo or the pearl centres at Manacor. You can also catch a bus direct to Palma for a shopping trip or sightseeing. If you want to be more adventurous, you might hire a car to explore the inland regions. This will also give you the chance to visit beaches further along the coast, such as Cala Murada or Cala Romantica.
You'll find Calas de Mallorca Perfect for couples not looking for high-octane nightlife or total privacy. It's a busy resort, with families and couples of all ages, and you'll have plenty to do when you're not on the beach. On Sunday mornings you can potter around the market at Felanitx, possibly Majorca's best. You'll have a wide choice of eateries and bars, including good seafood restaurants and international fast foods like pizza or curry. You'll spend your evening in a cafe or bar rather than a nightclub, with maybe some live music or a disco.
