Cala Ratjada Holidays

Cala Ratjada is a vibrant holiday resort situated on the north-eastern coast of Majorca. Once an old fishing village, the harbour now welcomes fleets of pleasure cruises and ferries from Majorca’s sister island, Menorca. Holidays to Cala Ratjada are especially suited to those looking for a resort that’s less swamped with tourists than those on the island’s southern coast. That’s not to say there’s not plenty to see and do, though. Cala Ratjada has a great selection of bars, restaurants, and shops, which cluster around the town’s promenade and the Plaça del Pins – the town’s main square – as well as a surprisingly vibrant nightlife scene. The town’s name literally translates to ‘bay of rays’, and the area is brimming with beaches, from secluded coves to long and lively stretches of sand. If you’re a nature lover you’ll be happy here. The Cap des Freu reserve is nearby, which covers 13 hectares of mountainous landscape at the island’s most north-easterly tip. Or venture underground at the famous Cuevas de Artà caves, a short drive south of Cala Ratjada.
