Where to find the best views in Innsbruck Vienna
Even if you're not into winter sports, you can still soak up the atmosphere at the Bergisel jump. While this is a working ski jump with daily activities, there's also a cafe at the top offering panoramic views of the city. There are floor-to-ceiling windows to gaze out of while you tuck into some homemade strudel. You can walk the 455 steps up, or take the two-minute lift which is a little easier!
If you like the view from the ski jump, you'll love the view from City Tower. This is a slightly easier climb, with 148 steps to reach the top of the historic 51-metre-high viewing platform in the centre. Don't forget your camera to capture the photogenic old town from this incredible vantage point.
Innsbruck's Culinary Delights
After all that climbing, it's time to tuck into some traditional Tyrolean cuisine. And it's proper comfort food. With Innsbruck typically experiencing pretty cold winters, a lot of the local specialities are hearty and warming. Dumplings are popular. Especially the fluffy Tiroler Speckknödel served in broth, and the crispy fried Kaspressknödel. Gröstl, a bacon, onion, and potato hash, is also a top choice.
